You can check your eligibility via phone, email or on the NDIS website.
Call 1800 800 110 to talk with an NDIS representative or send an email to enquiries@ndis.gov.au. Alternatively, click below to visit the NDIS website.
You can do this by filling out an Access Request Form or by making a Verbal Access Request. This is done via email, phone call or in person at an NDIS or Local Area Coordinator office.
The NDIA will be in contact to confirm your eligibility for NDIS funding and services. If you are eligible, you will be advised on the next steps and a planning meeting will be organised. Learn more about next steps and timeframes below.

The National Disability Insurance Scheme is a scheme run by the Australian Government that funds costs associated with disability. The scheme was legislated in 2013 and went into full operation in 2020.

Once you access the NDIS as a participant, you will need to decide how you would like to manage your NDIS plan. There are three ways that you can manage your plan. Self-management, plan management and NDIA management also known as agency-managed.
You can choose supports from non-NDIS registered providers. This means you don’t have to worry about using the NDIS Portal as you have a partner helping you and ensuring you get the most out of your NDIS plan.

As an NDIS participant, you have choice and control over how you manage your NDIS plan. In this video, the NDIS will explain how your NDIS plan is set up and how to spend the funds in your NDIS plan to live the life you want.
